Bay streak ends

Jason Bay’s string of consecutive games in which he hit a home run ended at six when the Pittsburgh left fielder went 1 for 5, with a single, in a 14-3 win over Milwaukee on Monday. Bay, who played collegiately at North Idaho and Gonzaga, has 16 homers.

Eight straight

The record of eight consecutive games with a home run is shared by Dale Long (Pirates, 1956), Don Mattingly (Yankees, 1987) and Ken Griffey Jr. (Mariners, 1993).
