People: Still sexy after all these years
George Clooney is the “sexiest man alive” – again.
The 45-year-old actor tops People magazine’s annual survey for a second time, moving into a tie with good friend Brad Pitt as the only multiple winners.
“This is one that’s going to be hard for Brad since he’s been ‘sexiest man alive’ twice,” says Clooney, who first took the title himself in 1997.
“I’d say ‘sexiest man alive’ to him and he’d go, ‘two-time.’ So that’s been taken away.”
Still, Clooney says: “But for me, I’ll tell him, ‘This is my last hurrah.’ “
Pitt, the winner in 1995 and 2000, finished a distant 15th in this year’s voting.
Patrick Dempsey – “Dr. McDreamy” from “Grey’s Anatomy” – was second behind Clooney, followed by Ashton Kutcher, Taye Diggs and Johnny Depp.
Josh Duhamel (“Las Vegas”), Enrique Murciano (“Without a Trace”), Leonardo DiCaprio, John Krasinski (“The Office”) and Jake Gyllenhaal rounded out the Top 10.
No Oprah – what about Uma?
The latest news on the Tom Cruise-Katie Holmes wedding front: Oprah Winfrey, on whose talk show Cruise performed his infamous couch-hopping proclamation of love for Holmes, is not on the guest list for the scheduled ceremony Saturday in Italy.
But she’s taking it in stride: “That’s fine. I don’t get invited to everyone’s wedding. … But I wish them the best.”
Houston, we have a shortfall
Part of Whitney Houston‘s $6 million New Jersey estate will be foreclosed on unless the soon-to-be divorced singer comes up with more than $1 million.
Houston has until Jan. 4 to either pay off her mortgage company after falling behind on her payments, or sell the property herself.
Tax records show the assessed value of the house is $889,300. The adjacent property that Houston owns is valued at more than $5.6 million.
Houston last month filed for divorce from her husband, singer Bobby Brown, after 14 years of marriage.
‘Velvet’ story soft
Both Beyonce Knowles and Eva Longoria are denying rumors that the pair plan to star as lesbian lovers in an upcoming movie titled “Tipping the Velvet.”
“Stop the madness,” pleads Longoria, while Knowles’ rep adds: “This is not happening. We’ve never heard of this film.”
But no McGruff stuff
Triumph the Insult Comic Dog is now an honorary member of the Las Vegas Police Department’s K-9 unit.
The cigar-smoking, foul-mouthed hand puppet given life by comic Robert Smigel received the accolade at the weeklong Comedy Festival in Vegas.
Pledged Triumph: “I will do my part to get all the drugs and hookers off the street, and into my hotel room.”
