Wolfe rushes into record book
Garrett Wolfe flashed the Heisman form he displayed early in the season and set Northern Illinois’ career rushing record with 203 yards in the Huskies’ 31-10 victory over Central Michigan (7-4, 6-1 MAC) Friday in DeKalb, Ill.
Wolfe has 4,972 yards, eclipsing Michael Turner’s career mark of 4,941.
The nation’s leader in rushing (153.3 yards per game) and all-purpose yards (176.3) entering the game, Wolfe carried 33 times and scored three touchdowns as the Huskies (6-5, 4-3 MAC) snapped a two-game losing streak.
Kent St. 14, E. Michigan 6
At Kent, Ohio, Eugene Jarvis ran for 155 yards and Najah Pruden caught a 68-yard touchdown pass as the Golden Flashes (6-5, 5-2 MAC) snapped a three-game losing streak in defeating the Eagles (1-10, 1-6).
Pruden’s pass from Julian Edelman 7 minutes into the game was the only touchdown in the first half. Daniel Muir returned an interception 5 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter. The Eagles scored on two fourth-quarter field goals by Andrew Wellock.
