Lossless

A term that is used by image and music users. The full expression is lossless compression scheme. Some compression types reduce the size of without causing a loss of quality. GIF was the first real lossless image format. When compression changes quality significantly, it’s “lossy.” In music, fans who want reduction in size but not quality opt for lossless schemes like FLAC and Meridian Lossless Package.
