So, which one blinked first?

Gee, what a surprise – Paris Hilton is back in the headlines.

Hilton was involved in a nightclub fracas early Wednesday with Shanna Moakler, estranged wife of rocker Travis Barker.

The Blink-182 drummer filed for divorce in August from Moakler, a former beauty queen who was recently voted off “Dancing With the Stars.” Then, in September, Barker was reportedly videotaped kissing Hilton.

When she arrived at the Hyde club in Hollywood, Hilton says Moakler walked up to her, “used the most vile of language” and then punched her in her jaw.

Moakler contends she exchanged mere profanities with Hilton, at which point Hilton’s ex-boyfriend Stavros Niarchos emerged from the entourage, bent Moakler’s wrists, poured a drink on her and shoved her down some stairs.

Hilton, 25, and Moakler, 31, both filed police reports alleging battery.

Moakler and Barker documented their life together on MTV’s “Meet the Barkers.”

Madonna with adoptive child?

Madonna, who arrived in the southern African nation of Malawi on Wednesday on a mission to help AIDS orphans, plans to adopt a child there, according to government officials.

Malawi adoption laws require prospective parents to undergo an 18-month probationary period to evaluate their suitability.

Madonna couldn’t do that, but the child could be cared for during that time by the Network of Organizations for Orphans and Other Vulnerable Children – one of the projects being set up in Malawi by Madonna, who’s also building an orphanage and childcare center.

She and film director husband Guy Ritchie have a son, Rocco, 5, and she also has a daughter, Lourdes, 9.

Time for a papa quiz

A man who claims to be the father of Anna Nicole Smith‘s newborn daughter has filed a lawsuit demanding that they return to California for paternity testing.

The former Playboy playmate has been in the Bahamas, mourning the death of her adult son. Daniel Wayne Smith died Sept. 10 while visiting his mother in the Nassau hospital where she had given birth three days earlier.

Photographer Larry Birkhead, who calls himself a former boyfriend, filed the suit. But Howard K. Stern, an attorney for Smith, says he’s the father and they plan to marry.

That’s just Horn honking

Three years to the day after being critically injured on stage by a tiger, magician Roy Horn was inducted into the Las Vegas Walk of Stars along with longtime performing partner Siegfried Fischbacher.

The ceremony took place Tuesday – which was Horn’s 62nd birthday – in front of The Mirage hotel, home of the duo’s act from 1990 until Oct. 3, 2003, when Horn was attacked.

Asked about the state of his rehabilitation, Horn said: “We’ll go horseback riding, and I’m driving my new car – yes, I’ve got a new sports car. So, it’s my birthday gift.”
