Al-Anon – a nonprofit for family members and friends of substance abusers, meets Mondays at 6 p.m. at Country Club Lane and Main Street in Pinehurst; Tuesdays at 7 p.m. at the Nazarene Church, Fourth and Honeysuckle; Wednesdays at noon and 5 p.m., and Thursday noon at St. Pius X Roman Catholic Church, 625 E. Bereavement Support Group – for those who have lost loved ones; meets from 1-2:30 p.m. Tuesdays at Kootenai Medical Center; (208) 666-3285.

Bereaved Parents of the USA – Coeur d’Alene Chapter of support group offering friendship and understanding to bereaved parents and families who have experienced the death of a child. Moms/Men At Home Making A Difference – Support for parents who work from home while raising their children; meets Tuesdays, 1 p.m., Spuler Auto Sales Building, 12211 E. Trent. Children are welcome, toy corner is provided; contact Penne Spuler at (509) 990-8488 for more information.

Muscular Dystrophy Association – Offers free support groups in the Spokane area for individuals and their families affected by neuromuscular diseases, including muscular dystrophy, myasthenia gravis, spinal muscular atrophy and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease), second Thursday of the month, 3-5 p.m., 140 S.
