North Texas coach Darrell Dickey is recovering from a heart attack he suffered at home late Thursday.
Dickey had a surgical procedure Friday and was released from the hospital Saturday, the school said. Assistant coach Kenny Evan will perform any duties Dickey can’t handle from home.
Dickey kept his hospitalization secret until he could tell his players and assistant coaches about it during a team meeting Sunday after they returned from having the weekend off.
