Mead clinches outright title
Ashley Hutchinson had 10 kills and Alex Cey added 16 digs and four aces Thursday as visiting Mead (10-0) swept North Central (4-6) 25-6, 25-8, 25-18 to win the Greater Spokane League volleyball title outright.
Ashley McGee led NC with four kills and four blocks.
On Wednesday, Mead will face the lowest-remaining seed after Tuesday’s first-round matches of the District 8 4A tournament. The first-round matches will have Shadle Park at Gonzaga Prep and Central Valley at Ferris. The highest-remaining seed left will play at Lewis and Clark on Wednesday.

Amy Knox made six saves for the Blackhawks, who will play West Valley for the league championship on Oct. 28.
