120th anniversary

Covenant Christian Church, 5915 S. Regal St., Suite 302, is celebrating 120 years of worship on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. with an open house.

The church recently moved to this location and is offering modern music, drama and video during its services.

The dedication of the new church will be at 3 p.m.

Concerts

“Celtic Music Spokane is presenting “Bountiful Harvest,” a concert with the Celtic Nots, today at 7 p.m. at Westminster Congregational Church, 411 S. Washington St.

Harpist Nancy Davis and folk singer Brian MacLeod will also perform.

“The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist, 127 E. 12th Ave., will present Andrea McCrady in a carillon concert on Sunday at 9:30 a.m.

McCrady will perform “Out of the Sky,” a new piece written by Spokane composer William Berry.

“The Unity Church of Truth, 2900 S. Bernard St., will present “Healing Powers of Indian Music and Chanting” on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

The concert will be performed by Harre Harren, who has recently returned from a trip to India. Admission is by donation.

Taize service

The Episcopal Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist will offer a Taize service on Sunday at 7 p.m. as part of its “Sundays @ 7” young adult program.

The ecumenical service will be presented by St. John’s, St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church and St. Ann’s Catholic Church. The core themes are reconciliation and peace.

Healing Mass

Fundraiser

Spokane Valley Young Life will hold its annual dessert fundraiser on Monday from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Decades Banquet Room, 10502 E. Sprague Ave.

The evening will include music and skits, and an appearance by former Spokane County Sheriff Mark Sterk. There also will be a silent auction for an autographed Adam Morrison rookie basketball jersey.

Speakers

Hillyard Baptist Church, 2121 E. Wabash Ave., will host the Abuse Recovery Ministry and Services at a luncheon next Saturday from noon to 2 p.m.

The “Lifting Up One Voice Against Abuse” theme will offer discussions about domestic abuse and support for women who have experienced it.

Spokane Christian Fellowship, 1505 W. Cleveland Ave., will present “The Heart of a Woman, A Service on Abuse and Victimization” on Friday and Nov. 3 and Nov. 10 at 7 p.m.

Sneak preview

The Unity Center of North Spokane, 4123 E. Lincoln Road, and the Unity Church of Truth, 2900 S. Bernard St., will present a sneak preview of the movie “Conversations With God.”

The film will be screened at the north location today at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.

The south location will screen the film today at 4 and 7 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.
