NIC class on medications open to senior citizens

The Spokesman-Review

Room is still available in a North Idaho College credit course specifically designed for senior citizens age 60 and older.

Understanding the Use of Nonprescription Medications helps adult learners understand the dosages, ingredients, side effects and drug interactions of over-the-counter drugs. Class participants also will learn the brand and generic names for common medications and federal regulations pertaining to medications.

The class will be offered from 1 to 2:50 p.m. in eight Monday sessions from through Dec. 11 on NIC’s main campus in Coeur d’Alene. The fee is $30.

To register for the course, call the NIC Registrar’s Office at 769-3320.

In addition, seniors also qualify for a semester-long parking permit at a reduced rate of $5. The permit allows adult learners to park anywhere that student parking is permitted on campus. For a permit, call NIC Campus Safety at 769-3310 or stop by the River Building along River Avenue.
