Frampton, Blunt earn player of week honors

The Spokesman-Review

The Cougars had a pair of players win Pac-10 player of the week honors for the first time in their careers.

Safety Eric Frampton won defensive honors after his 16-tackle effort against Oregon and punter Darryl Blunt won special teams honors by averaging better than 49 yards on his three punts, none of which Oregon managed to return.

Interestingly, the Cougars did not nominate quarterback Alex Brink for the offensive honors after his 20-of-23 performance, opting for running back Dwight Tardy and his 145 rushing yards instead. Tardy lost out to Cal running back Marshawn Lynch.
