The region: Moses Lake bills itself as the “desert oasis,” and counts about 16,500 residents. Located in the Columbia Basin, it encompasses one of the state’s largest freshwater lakes. It’s a big asset to anglers, boaters, waterskiers and wildlife enthusiasts.

The area has 300 days of sunshine a year and four distinct seasons.

A large aquatic center, numerous golf courses, driving ranges and RV park are among the spots that appeal to seniors. In addition, there’s a museum, winery and outdoor amphitheater.

Moses Lake is home to Big Bend Community College.

The Moses Lake Senior Center offers daily lunches, classes, dances and health check-ups.
