Halloween Party – Children ages 3 and up may visit Camp Fire USA’s Camp Dart-Lo for hay rides, a haunted house, games, treats and more at 14000 N. Dartford Drive. Hours are 4:30-7 p.m. Friday, noon-4 p.m. Saturday and noon-3 p.m. Sunday. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Admission is $5 per child. Proceeds benefit the camp. (509) 747-6191.

Octoberfest – Games for kids, silent auction, bingo, vendors and entertainment to benefit the Has Beens, Gonna Bees and Wanna Bees, which provides help to low-income families at Christmas. Wilderness protection – Doug Scott, director fro the Campaign for America’s Wilderness, will read from his book “The Enduring Wilderness” and speak about local wilderness campaigns such as Scotchman Peaks, 7 p.m. Monday in Gonzaga University’s Cataldo Hall, 502 E. Boone. (208) 255-2780.

Business Ethics – Gonzaga University President Rev. Robert Spitzer will speak on “Foundations of Professional Ethics: Getting to the Heart of Business Ethics,” noon-2:30 p.m. Wednesday in Gonzaga’s Cataldo Hall, 502 E. Boone. (509) 323-5591.

Archaeological discovery – Renee Barlow will speak on archaeological discoveries in a canyon on the Colorado Plateau that has been closed to the public for 50 years, 7 p.m. Wednesday in the Museum of Arts and Culture Johnston Auditorium, 2316 W. First. (509) 456-3931.
