Title contenders: Idaho Falls, Eagle
At a glance: Lake City is making its seventh straight trip to state and eighth overall. Coeur d’Alene is making its first trip to state since 2004 and sixth in last seven years. Idaho Falls (36-10) is seeking a fourth straight state title. Eagle (34-0) won the state title before IF’s recent string. Eagle topped IF in the final of the Borah Invite earlier this month.

Title contenders: Bonneville, Skyview, Sandpoint
At a glance: Sandpoint has missed just two state tournaments in the 30-year history of the sport, and last year was the second. It’s an interesting mix of teams. Kuna, Preston and Wood River were once powers in 3A. Sandpoint used to be a power among the state’s biggest schools and Bonneville (32-6), to a degree, was a perennial trophy winner. Skyview placed second last year, Century was third and Bonneville fourth.

Title contenders: St. Maries, Bear Lake, Fruitland, Sugar-Salem, Buhl
At a glance: The tourney looks wide open with as many as six of the eight teams in contention. St. Maries returns for a ninth time since winning the last of 10 straight state titles in 1993. St. Maries (second) and Shelley (fourth) are the lone placers returning.
