“I go over our (play) call sheet (Friday night) and when I wake up on Saturday morning I do the same thing again, kind of refresh and study.

“If we’re home recruiting I would deal with recruits Saturday, both in the morning and in pregame and after the game. But on the road, it’ll be a situation where once we get to the stadium I always check the path to the press box, make sure everything is OK getting up and down. That seems like a simple thing, but I always talk with the people that transport us, I talk with the people who run the elevators. … I’ve been at places where they don’t always take care of you, so you want to make sure.

“We can make phone calls (to recruits) up until kickoff by NCAA rule. … In the mornings I will, and the other thing because of text messaging, I’ll text on the buses and a lot of our coaches do. We’ll text on the buses all the way to the stadium. … Sometimes on Saturday evening you will, too.”
