Pride has no price

The Spokesman-Review

My hat goes off to the Rogers football coaches for believing in their players and encouraging them all season. So what if their record is 23 straight losses? I say the team has won 23 straight games for their work ethic, commitment, pride, determination, effort and believing in themselves.

In my eyes they are the season’s winners this year. You cannot become successful without giving it everything you’ve got. These young men will become successful later in life due to the lessons they have learned this year.

What a great message they are sending to other young people in our community, never giving up even when it feels like there’s no hope. What a good springboard these young men have to use later in life.

Congratulations to the Rogers football players and coaches. This article reminded me of a Mastercard commercial that might go like this: “Lessons in the locker room? Priceless.”
