Leinart sprains shoulder in loss
Arizona quarterback Matt Leinart engineered an 11-play, 87-yard drive that ended in a touchdown pass to Troy Walters before leaving the game with a sprained shoulder in the Cardinals’ 29-23 loss to the Denver Broncos in Glendale, Ariz., Thursday night.
Leinart was injured when he was sacked by Patrick Chukwurah in the third quarter. An MRI is planned for today, but Leinart called the injury a “fluke thing,” and said he could have gone back into the game. Jay Cutler went 12 of 18 for 190 yards for Denver.

Bills 20, Lions 13: At Detroit, J.P. Losman completed all five of his pass attempts and Willis McGahee scored on a 1-yard run, helping Buffalo beat Detroit. Losman threw for 52 yards, and McGahee ran for 29 yards and the TD on the opening drive.

Bears 20, Browns 7: At Cleveland, Rex Grossman threw a 6-yard touchdown pass to tight end Desmond Clark to lead the Bears to an exhibition win over Cleveland. Rookie Devin Hester’s 54-yard punt return set up Grossman’s scoring toss early in the first quarter.
Panthers 15, Steelers 13: At Pittsburgh, John Kasay kicked his fifth field goal on the final play of the game, a 29-yarder that finished an unbeaten Carolina preseason and a winless one for Super Bowl champion Pittsburgh.
Cowboys 10, Vikings 10: At Irving, Texas, Terrell Owens made his Dallas debut but Mike Vanderjagt, the “other” big off-season signee for Dallas, missed field goals of 32 and 33 yards in overtime, forcing a rare preseason game without a winner or loser.
Ravens 17, Redskins 10: At Landover, Md., Steve McNair finally got his first touchdown pass with Baltimore, giving himself and his team a dose of momentum headed into the regular season with the win over Washington.
Chiefs 10, Saints 9: At Kansas City, Mo., McKenzie Smith scored on a 1-yard plunge in the fourth quarter and Kansas City beat New Orleans in a game played almost entirely by reserves.
Texans 16, Buccaneers 13: At Houston, Houston beat the Buccaneers in a game where almost all starters on both teams sat out.
David Boston, signed as a free agent this year for Tampa Bay, had six receptions for 77 yards.
