When the Cougars needed Brink most, the junior captain couldn’t find a rhythm.

Running backs: B

Woolridge impressed mightily before his injury; others did OK.

Wide receivers: C

WSU’s big-play threats made none through the entire game.

Offensive line: C+

Settled down over four quarters, but early sacks put Cougars on their heels.

Defensive line: C-

Undermanned and overpowered against a tough Auburn offense.

Linebackers: C

Kenny Irons is very good, but WSU’s tackling was not.

Defensive backs: C+

Pass coverage was passable but angles of pursuit were poor.

Overall: C+

Cougars had little chance; getting surprised by speed against a top-five team? That’s strange.
