Giants 3, Reds 2: At Cincinnati, Jonathan Sanchez won his first major league start and Ray Durham homered twice as San Francisco beat the Reds.

Nationals 7, Cardinals 6: At Washington, Jose Vidro hit a two-run single in the bottom of the ninth inning to give the Nationals a victory over St. Louis.

Mets 4-8, Braves 1-0: At New York, Oliver Perez pitched his second career shutout in the nightcap, and Carlos Delgado hit a tiebreaking homer in the opener, as the Mets swept Atlanta.

Astros 5, Phillies 3: At Philadelphia, Lance Berkman’s bases-clearing double with two outs in the ninth inning gave Houston a victory over the Phillies.

Marlins 2, Diamondbacks 0: At Miami, Anibal Sanchez became the first pitcher to throw a no-hitter in more than two seasons in Florida’s win over Arizona.

Dodgers 2, Brewers 1: At Milwaukee, Derek Lowe allowed three hits and an unearned run in eight innings to help Los Angeles beat the Brewers.

Cubs 7, Pirates 2: At Chicago, Derrek Lee hit a grand slam on his 31st birthday, leading the Cubs over Pittsburgh.

Padres 2, Rockies 0 (11): At San Diego, rookie Paul McAnulty hit his first career homer, a two-run shot with one out in the 11th inning, and the Padres beat Colorado.
