Millwood City Council – Council members discussed a proposal from Walgreen’s to build a store at Trent and Argonne where the gas station and Tupper Building are now. The buildings would have to be removed to make room for the store. (Source: Town Clerk Eva Colomb)

Fairfield City Council – A representative of the Spokane County Sheriff’s Office came to talk with the council about any concerns it might have. Council members approved new park hours that will close both parks from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. each day. They approved minor changes to the Flood Hazard Protection Ordinance. They discussed what students from the Upper Columbia Academy Hope Task Force could do during their upcoming community service day in Fairfield. It was decided to have them trim suckers from trees. Rockford City Council – Council members approved an agreement with a law firm in Spokane to handle any prosecution the town may have in the future. The annual Rockford fair is Sept. 22-24. (Source: Town clerk)
