Chiefs were ‘scammed’
Once again, the Spokane Chiefs are on the downside of the WHL.
If missing the past two seasons of playoffs and not protecting fan favorite/seat-filler Myles Stoesz on our protected list weren’t enough, they lost another quality player.
Trevor Lewis, a 17th overall draft pick from the NHL, has been on the hush-hush list while Spokane got bent over and Chiefs fans have been shoveling cash for the upcoming season. Owen Sound obviously put more effort into obtaining him than we did. Maybe we should trade for a lawyer who will stand up for more than a few “we got hosed” words.
I commend general manager Tim Speltz for his comments, but words will not fix this scam. It’s time for him to step up for our league, for the fans, for our organization, for himself, and above all, our players.
Go get them, Timmy. Time to step up or step down.
