Chiefs get forward

The Spokane Chiefs made a move to bolster their front line Monday when the Western Hockey League team acquired 19-year-old forward David Rutherford from the Vancouver Giants.

To get Rutherford, a native of Ladner, British Columbia, who had four goals and six assists in 41 games with Vancouver in his first season in the WHL last season, the Chiefs gave up a fifth-round selection in either the 2007 or 2008 Bantam Draft.
