Mets 3, Marlins 2: At New York, Tom Glavine pitched eight sharp innings and the newly crowned East-champion Mets rallied to beat Florida. Lastings Milledge and Michael Tucker hit RBI singles in the eighth that gave Glavine his 289th career victory.
Nationals 9, Braves 2: At Washington, rookie Beltran Perez allowed one hit over six innings to win his first major league start, and the Nationals beat Atlanta.
Rockies 12, Giants 4: At Denver, Matt Cain allowed consecutive third-inning homers to Garrett Atkins and Matt Holliday, and Colorado beat San Francisco. Atkins homered twice and drove in four runs, and has 10 RBIs in his last two games. Phillies 4, Cubs 1: At Philadelphia, Jamie Moyer pitched seven solid innings and Abraham Nunez had a two-run single to lead the Phillies over Chicago.
Reds 5, Astros 4: At Houston, Chris Denorfia hit a two-run homer and Ryan Freel had a two-run double to back a strong start from Aaron Harang and lead Cincinnati past Houston.
Cardinals 12, Brewers 2: At Milwaukee, Jeff Weaver threw six strong innings and St. Louis scored six runs in the seventh in a victory over the Brewers.
Padres 5, Diamondbacks 2: At San Diego, Trevor Hoffman earned his 476th career save, Mike Cameron hit a three-run homer and the Padres beat Arizona.
Pirates 10, Dodgers 6: At Los Angeles, Jose Bautista hit a grand slam, Ian Snell pitched six strong innings and Pittsburgh knocked the Dodgers one-half game back of San Diego.
