Irish tabloid angers Woods

STRAFFAN, Ireland – Tiger Woods was outraged Wednesday at an Irish magazine and a tabloid that linked photos of his wife to various pornography sites, and his agent was studying the merits of a lawsuit.

The publisher, Dubliner Media Limited, issued an apology saying it was a satire and didn’t expect anyone to take it seriously.

The Dubliner magazine wrote in its September issue about Elin Nordegren, his Swedish wife of nearly two years.

“Most American golfers are married to women who cannot keep their clothes on in public,” the magazine wrote. “Is it too much to ask that they leave them at home for the Ryder Cup? Consider the evidence. Tiger Woods’ wife can be found in a variety of sweaty poses on porn sites.”

Woods’ agent said he was debating whether to pursue a lawsuit.

Road trippin’ with Ralphie

ATHENS, Ga. – “Massive beast to invade Athens.”

The headline in the student newspaper gave playful notice of the impending visit from Colorado’s 1,100-pound buffalo mascot, Ralphie IV, for Saturday’s game against No. 9 Georgia at Sanford Stadium.

The buffalo was scheduled to leave its Boulder home Wednesday for the 3,500-mile drive and arrive in Athens on Friday. The “massive beast” had Georgia coach Mark Richt a bit alarmed Tuesday as he learned the details.

“I don’t know the deal,” he added. “Is he going to get to run all over the field and stuff? That doesn’t seem right.”

No one told Richt that Ralphie is a female.
