The Washington Idaho Symphony opens its 2006-07 season with concerts Saturday in Pullman and Sunday in Clarkston.

The program includes Mozart’s Overture to “Don Giovanni,” in honor of the 250th anniversary of the composer’s birth, along with contemporary American composer Ellen Taaffe Zwilich’s Symphony No. 1, which in 1983 earned her the first Pulitzer Prize in Music ever won by a woman.

Concerts start Saturday at 8 p.m. in Washington State University’s Bryan Hall Auditorium, and Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Clarkston High School Auditorium.

Tickets are $15 for adults (one child admitted free with each paying adult), $6 for students with ID (free for WSU students), at the door or by calling (509) 332-3408.
