Browns Lake camp set to reopen
Browns Lake in Pend Oreille County is getting a new boat ramp this month, but the work should be done sooner than reported.
The campground and main boat access could reopen by Saturday, said Newport Ranger District staffers. Once the work is done, the campground will remain open until the fishing season closes on Oct. 31.
Meantime, there’s room for several cars to park and launch carry-on boats at the far end of the lake near the watchable wildlife area. Fishing has been good.
