Candidates will appear at forums

A pair of afternoon forums for candidates in local races will be held this week, sponsored by Aging and Long-Term Care of Eastern Washington.

Candidates for Spokane County’s District 3 commissioner race, Republican incumbent Phil Harris and Democratic challenger Bonnie Mager, are scheduled to appear Thursday at the Corbin Senior Activity Center, 827 W. Cleveland. Also on the agenda are candidates in the 3rd Legislative District House race, Democratic incumbent Alex Wood and GOP challenger Laura Carder.

On Friday, candidates in the 6th Legislative District races will take part in a forum at the Southside Senior Activity Center, 3151 E. 27th Ave. Those races include GOP incumbent Sen. Brad Benson and Democratic challenger Chris Marr, GOP incumbent Rep. John Serben and challenger Don Barlow, a Democrat, and GOP incumbent John Ahern and Democratic challenger Barbara Lampert.

Both forums start at 1:30 p.m.
