Play-by-play announcer Ron Thulin will broadcast TBS’ first WSU game since 2002

“I’m up no later than 5:45 or 6. I get my coffee. I’m the first one to go get newspapers at the hotels because they always run out. You read the newspaper, just make sure you got everything. … About 9 o’clock we’ll have a production meeting. By (the time it’s over) it’s about 10 or 10:15. I’ll go back to my room and usually watch more tape, go over my notes, make sure I got pronunciations right again. … Usually by 11:15 I just shut it down, because you’ve got so much information in your head. I’ll just watch a football game and pretend I’m calling that game.

“Charles (Davis) and I take our time setting up. We come down on the field to check wind direction. We talk to the coaches, usually, if they’re standing on the sideline. … It’s seat of the pants (during the game). But I’m very lucky, because Charles and I are like brothers. … Afterward, we’ll drive back to Spokane because we have 6 a.m. flights. It’s the glamour part of the job.”
