Easter events

“The annual community Easter sunrise service will begin at 6:30 Sunday at Greenwood Memorial Terrace, 211 N. Government Way. The Rev. Joyce O’Conner-Magee, pastor of Manito United Methodist Church, will speak on the theme of “Don’t Panic!”

The service is organized by the Interfaith Council.

Dress for the early-morning temperatures.

“In keeping with Orthodox tradition, St. John’s Orthodox Church in Post Falls will begin its Easter celebration with a liturgy at 11:30 p.m. today. The service will be followed by a special meal.

The celebration will continue with a vespers service and Easter egg hunt beginning at 11 a.m. Sunday. All events will be at the church, 4718 E. Horsehaven.

“The congregation of Millwood Presbyterian Church will have its annual Easter sunrise service at 7 Sunday at the Arbor Crest Winery, 4705 N. Fruit Hill Road, overlooking the Spokane Valley.

Additional services will follow at 9:30 and 11 at the church, 3223 N. Marguerite Road.

“Community United Methodist Church in Coeur d’Alene will have a sunrise service at 7 Sunday, followed by additional services at 8:30 and 11. Breakfast will be served from 7:30 to 10:30. Donations will be accepted.

The church also will host an Easter egg hunt at 9:45 a.m.

All events are at the church, 1470 W. Hanley.

“The annual sunrise Easter service at the Saltese Cemetery will begin at 6:30 Sunday. The service will again be hosted by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

To reach the cemetery, head south on Sullivan Road from Sprague Avenue and then turn left on Saltese Road.

“A large community Easter service in Coeur d’Alene will again be hosted by Christ the King Lutheran Church. The service will begin at 10 a.m. Sunday at Schuler Auditorium on the North Idaho College campus in Coeur d’Alene.

The church also will have a smaller service at the church, 1700 Pennsylvania Ave., at 7 a.m.

“A musical presentation titled “Jesus – No Other King” is the centerpiece of two Easter services at 9 and 11 a.m. Sunday at the First Church of the Nazarene, 9004 N. Country Homes Blvd.

The presentation will feature a large choir, praise teams, soloists and narrators.

“An outdoor Sunrise Easter service will begin at 6:30. Sunday at Moran United Methodist Church, 3601 E. 65th Ave. A breakfast will follow, as will another worship service at 10.

An Easter egg hunt for children will be held after the 10 a.m. service.

“The newly formed Latah Valley congregation will host an Easter sunrise service at 6 Sunday at the Latah Creek Plaza, next to the AmericanWest Bank at 4233 S. Cheney-Spokane Road.

“The Metaline Falls (Wash.) Congregational United Church of Christ will host its annual sunrise service at 7 a.m. at the Metaline Park shelter.

A free continental breakfast will follow from 8:30 to 9:30 at the church, 101 W. Fifth.

There also will be a Communion service at the church at 10.
