The Spokesman-Review

North Idaho College and the NIC Booster Club have been approved and sanctioned by the Idaho High School Activities Association to host the fourth annual Idaho High School All-Star Game for both boys and girls basketball next Saturday.

The game, in doubleheader format, will match teams from North Idaho versus Southern Idaho and will be played in NIC’s Christianson Gym in Coeur d’Alene.

Senior players from all classifications will be eligible for selection to the All-Star teams.

The selection committee will again include representatives from the news media throughout the state who will select 12 All-Stars for each of the four teams, with two alternates on each team. All-Star teams for both squads will be determined at the conclusion of the boys’ state tournament.

The event also will include slam-dunk contest and a three-point shooting competition between games between the top senior male and female shooters in the state.

The Southern Idaho boys hold a 2-1 edge in the annual event, while the Southern Idaho girls are undefeated after three years. In last year’s games, the Southern Idaho boys beat North Idaho 109-101 while Southern Idaho girls crushed North Idaho 103-46.
