Scott Bucher has been hired as a production manager at Clearwater Summit Group. He previously owned a landscaping business.

The Spokane Regional Convention and Visitors Bureau has hired Brenda Dodd as a convention sales manager. She has more than 15 years experience in the hotel industry.

Ronald Rooks has been hired as a senior civil engineer at USKH Inc.’s Walla Walla office. Rooks holds a degree in civil engineering from Oregon State University. He previously worked for HDR Engineering in Pasco.

Georgine Froewiss has been hired by Sterling Savings Bank as assistant vice president and regional human resources manager. She previously worked at Washington Trust Bank for 11 years.

Scott Marikis has been hired as the chief financial and administrative officer at Empire Airlines in Hayden. He has 20 years experience in financial and administrative management.

PROMOTIONS Dan Joralemon has been promoted from spray technician to maintenance manager for the Clearwater Summit Group.

Beth Ziegler has been promoted to vice president at Sterling Savings Bank. She has been with the bank for 11 years.

Erin Hanson has been promoted to manager at the Buckle store at the NorthTown mall. She has been with the company since 2005 and was previously assistant manager of the Spokane Valley Mall Buckle store.

KUDOS Greg Flowers, of Walla Walla, was among the first group of land surveyors in the nation to earn the ranking of certified federal surveyor. He is employed by USKH Inc.

Silverwood’s Boulder Beach Water Park has received a 2006 Platinum International Aquatic Safety Award by Ellis and Associates, an aquatic safety and risk management consulting firm. The award is given to facilities that score in the top 8 percent in the firm’s safety audit criteria.

Monique Smith, of Monique’s Salon, was recently given a national award for outstanding performance with women and hair loss by International Hairgoods Inc.
