Penny Drive will aid Whitman libraries

Beginning Monday through April 20, the Whitman County Library is holding its second annual Penny Drive.

The drive is in honor of National Library Week, which runs next Sunday through April 21.

Pennies will be collected at all 13 Whitman County Library branches. Proceeds will benefit each individual location to fund programs or projects.

Children’s Village charity benefit

The Children’s Village in Coeur d’Alene will hold its annual Charity Auction and Dinner on Friday, featuring “The Golden Years of Hollywood.”

The event, which will include live and silent auctions, will be at The Coeur d’Alene Inn, 503 W. Appleway Ave., Coeur d’Alene, and will begin at 6 p.m. Doors will open at 5.

Items in the silent auction include donated paintings, jewelry, and lawn and garden novelties.

Live auction items include a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; a metal art sculpture and a mink coat.

Tickets are $47 per person or $90 per couple.

All proceeds will benefit The Children’s Village.

Goodwill Fashion Show

On Saturday, Goodwill Industries of the Inland Northwest will hold its 23rd annual fashion show, luncheon and sale at the Davenport Hotel.

The doors to the Grand Pennington Ballroom will open at 11 a.m.

The luncheon will begin at 11:30, and the sale will be held in the Hall of Doges immediately following the show.

Tickets are $40.

Proceeds will benefit Goodwill programs.

Vandal boosters fundraiser

The annual Spokane Vandalfest will be Saturday at Decades Meeting Place and Banquet, 10502 E. Sprague Ave.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a silent auction, and dinner and a live auction will follow at 7.

The event is a fundraiser for athletic scholarships.

Tickets are $45 per person. Tickets are available at the door or can be reserved until Tuesday.
