In Great Northern League action Wednesday, visiting Pullman swept Cheney in a doubleheader. JT Levenseller pitched a two-hitter, striking out eight, as Pullman shut out the Blackhawks 13-0 in five innings in the opener. Jamie Fertakis belted a three-run homer in the fourth inning and scored twice for the Greyhounds. Also, Levi Lane went 3 for 3 with three runs scored for Pullman. In the second game, Cheney tied the game at 5 in the fifth inning before allowing four runs in the sixth inning on home runs by Levenseller, his second of the day, and Marty Guettinger for a 9-5 loss. Matt Wedde went 1 for 2 with a bases-clearing double for Cheney (5-5, 3-3). Alec Scourey was 2 for 3 for Pullman (6-4, 4-2).
•In Inland Empire League action, Lake City split a doubleheader with Post Falls. Chris Combo allowed two hits in six innings with four strikeouts en route to a 6-0 Lake City shutout over the visiting Trojans. Kyle Johnson led the Timberwolves with four hits in four trips to the plate and drove in a pair of runs. Teammate Mike Collins had three hits in three at-bats with an RBI. In the second game, Post Falls scored five runs in the second inning and cruised to an 8-1 victory. The Timberwolves committed four errors and issued 12 walks. Post Falls (6-7, 3-4) totaled five hits in the game. Alex Capaul had a sacrifice fly to score the only run for Lake City (6-4. 2-3).

In Greater Spokane League action, Sam Palmer scored two goals to lead Ferris (6-4, 3-2) to a 2-1 comeback victory over host Shadle Park. Palmer scored the unassisted game-winning goal in the 51st minute after capitalizing on a penalty kick in the 32nd minute. Jon Schillios quickly found the net for Shadle in the third minute, but that rounded out the scoring for the Highlanders (3-6, 2-4). John Mjelde made seven saves in goal for Shadle Park. … Elsewhere, Central Valley shut down Mead at the hands of goalkeeper Nick Piger, who had nine saves for a 1-0 shutout at Central Valley. Kody Franks scored in the 53rd minute for the Bears (5-4, 3-3) on an assist from Stephen Grinalds to stave off overtime. Michael Shriver had five shots on goal for Mead (7-1, 4-1), but he was denied each time. … Peter Dunau scored two of his three goals in the first half for Lewis and Clark to lead the Tigers past host North Central 6-1 at Joe Albi Stadium. Matt Hurst added two goals for Lewis and Clark (7-2, 5-1) and an assist. Travis Green found the net in the 79th minute for North Central (2-7, 0-5) to spoil the Tigers’ shutout. … Five different players scored, including two goals by Evan Frobe and Bryce Burchak, as University (6-3, 5-1) finished off a 7-4 win over host Mt. Spokane at Albi Stadium. Nick Reilly netted a pair of goals for the Wildcats (0-9, 0-5), his second at the 48th minute to bring his team within two goals. The victory ties University with Lewis and Clark for first place in the GSL standings, one-half game ahead of Mead and East Valley. Ferris is in fifth place.

Lake City scored two runs in the fifth inning but couldn’t take the lead and fell 4-3 to visiting Post Falls in Inland Empire League play at Lake City. Blake Meredith went the distance for Post Falls (8-4, 4-2) with seven strikeouts, while teammate Lauren Nagrone went 3 for 3 with four RBIs. Bri Harbour was 2 for 3 with a double to lead Lake City (8-3, 3-2).
