GU student named debate All-American
Gonzaga University student Nick Bormann was recently named as a Cross Examination Debate Association All-American. Bormann, of Spokane, is a philosophy major.
•Kaplan University announced area graduates for online students at the Coral Springs Center in Coral Springs, Fla. Maria Egland of Spokane received an Associate of Applied Science, Paralegal Studies, summa cum laude; and Clayton Blackwell, Spokane, received a Terrorism and National Security Management Certificate.
•Vincent Jobando of Spokane recently graduated from Texas Christian University with a Doctor of Philosophy degree.
•Anna Schara of Spokane was placed on the honor roll for fall semester 2006 at Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tenn.
•Caleb Allen of Mead was named to the University of Hartford’s dean’s list for fall 2006.
•Sean Roberts of Spokane was part of the Carroll College Forensics Team that has been ranked fifth in the nation.
•Cody Wymore, son of Michael and Jennifer Wymore of Spokane, was named to the Ithaca College’s School of Music’s dean’s list for fall 2006.
•Steven Clark of Spokane recently was named to the fall 2006 dean’s list at St. Joseph’s University.
•The following people recently graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio.
Air Force Airman Timothy Benifield is the son of Christine Brouillette of Deer Park.
Air Force Airman Darren Jacobs graduated from Medical Lake High School in 2005. He is the son of Carol Babb of Union City, Tenn., and Scott Jacobs of Fairchild Air Force Base.
•Timothy Rooney of Spokane was awarded a Dordt College Honors Scholarship and an Instrumental Music Scholarship at Dordt College in Sioux Center, Iowa, for the 2006-07 academic year. He is the son of Patrick and Darlene Rooney of Spokane.
•Alexander Potts of Spokane was named to the Berklee College of Music dean’s list for fall 2006.
