QBs share spotlight for Idaho

MOSCOW, Idaho – The quarterback race and defensive woes highlighted the University of Idaho’s first full scrimmage of spring football drills.

Quarterback candidates Nathan Enderle, Brian Nooy and Luke Tracy all did well.

Enderle, a redshirt freshman, completed 6 of 11 passes for 115 yards and two touchdowns; senior Nooy was 6 of 6 for 120 yards and two scores; and Tracy, a junior college transfer, was 5 for 10 for 50 yards.

“Each of the quarterbacks engineered drives or had some touchdown throws,” said Vandals coach Robb Akey. “That was a good thing.”

But Akey and Vandals senior cornerback Stanley Franks expressed concerns about the defense. The line has especially taken a hit from injuries and academics.

“I’m not sure what happened,” Franks said. “Our ‘D,’ we didn’t play up to our potential today.”
