Editing is easy at Wikipedia

The Spokesman-Review

How do I … edit or make a new entry on Wikipedia?

Answer: Guess what? You can find that very answer on Wikipedia itself.

By now most of the Web world knows about Wikipedia, the vast online encyclopedia that allows anyone to create entries and edit them. If you’re as smart as the typical fourth-grader, you can make Wikipedia entries and change ones that you think are wrong.

Since anyone can post entries, errors do abound. Think you know Spokane well? Read the Spokane entry there and decide if you can make it more accurate.

There’s a set of tabs above the “Spokane, Washington” entry that give you the choice of “discussion,” “history” or “edit this page.” Obviously that tab is the one that lets you launch the text editor. All you need to know is that the editor shows not just the words themselves but the HTML coding that allows for hyperlinks and other formatting.

When done with any changes, you submit the entry and Wikipedia takes care of the entry.
