Baseball

Paul Wilmer went 2 for 4 and scored three runs as Moscow (7-11, 6-7) beat host Coeur d’Alene 24-16 Friday in the first game of an Inland Empire League doubleheader.

The Bears scored 12 runs in the fourth inning and eight in the fifth to go ahead 23-16.

Andy Seaman went 3 for 5 with three RBIs to lead the Vikings.

In game two, Shea Vucinich, Alex Reyes and Brandon Cleave all had three RBIs as Coeur d’Alene won 14-13. The Vikings (16-6, 10-6) scored nine runs in the first to take an early lead.

Softball

Sam Skillingstad pitched a complete game no-hitter as Shadle Park topped host Gonzaga Prep (6-10) 9-0 in Greater Spokane League action. Danielle Lynn hit a grand slam in the second for the Highlanders (16-0), who had 15 hits. …Elsewhere in the GSL, Lewis and Clark (1-15) scored nine unearned runs and beat host Ferris 12-6. Bethany Krahn had three RBIs to lead the Saxons (1-15), who committed 10 errors. … Chelsea Gray went 2 for 2 with two doubles and two RBIs as Mt. Spokane edged visiting East Valley (5-11) 4-3. Delaney Zalud earned her first win of the season for the Wildcats (7-10) after scattering seven hits in the complete game. … Mead took advantage of six Central Valley errors and beat the Bears (10-7) 8-6. Taneesha Pounder picked up the win for the Panthers after allowing one run on three hits in four innings of relief. Jill Pecka had three hits and an RBI for Mead (12-5). …

“Riverside (3-12, 2-8) swept host Deer Park (5-13, 2-10) in a Great Northern League doubleheader. Jolene Millspaugh was 3 for 3 with two doubles as the Rams won the opener 11-5. Millspaugh also picked up the win for Riverside after allowing 10 hits in the complete game. In game two, the Rams scored three runs in the first and cruised to a 4-0 victory. Millspaugh earned the win after scattering eight hits in the complete game. …Elsewhere in the GNL, Colville swept a doubleheader from visiting Medical Lake (5-9, 3-7). The Indians scored 12 runs in the first and coasted to an easy 15-4 win in five innings in the opener. Emilee Lepp hit a two-run home run and finished with three RBIs to lead Colville. In game two, Lepp and Cass Stuart each finished 4 for 4 with five RBIs as the Indians won 23-1 in five innings. Jennica Ebel added three hits and three RBIs for Colville (14-0, 12-0).

Boys soccer

Matt Miller scored off an assist from Josh Polello in the 64th minute, giving East Valley a 2-1 Greater Spokane League win over visiting Central Valley (7-6, 5-5) on the final day of league play. Andrew Mastronaradi scored the Knights’ first goal in the 41st minute, but the Bears’ Stephen Grinalds responded with a goal in the 57th minute. With the win, East Valley (9-4, 9-1) is the GSL champion and the top seed to the 3A regionals, which start next Saturday. The Knights will face the fourth seed out of the Columbia Basin League. … Elsewhere in the GSL, Lewis and Clark wrapped up the 4A No. 2 seed with a 3-0 shutout of host Shadle Park. The Tigers (10-4, 8-2) will play top-seeded University Wednesday at 7 p.m. at Joe Albi Stadium. … John Sittser, Mike Shriver and Jason Hamer all scored as Mead topped visiting Mt. Spokane 3-1. Nick Reilly scored the lone goal for the Wildcats. The third-seeded Panthers (10-3, 7-3) will face Gonzaga Prep Monday at 7 p.m. at Albi Stadium. 3A No. 2 seed Mt. Spokane (2-12, 2-8) will travel to play the CBL third-seed next Saturday. … Connor Payton scored two goals, leading Gonzaga Prep (7-6, 5-5) to a 4-1 win over visiting North Central. The Bullpups secured the sixth seed entering the 4A district tournament.
