Still time to enroll in youth college
Parents still on the lookout for fun summer activities can check out the Summer Youth College offered by Spokane Falls Community College. Class sessions are offered three times: June 25 through 29, July 9 through 13 and 16 through 20. Girls and boys ages 9 to 13 may attend. A special teen session for ages 13 to 16 will be offered July 23 through 27.
Classes are from one to three hours long and prices vary. Topics include sports, science, computers, games, crafts, foreign language, photography and more. Advance registration is required. A free round-up area is available for parents who need to drop their children off between 7:30 and 8:30 a.m. or pick them up between 4:30 and 5:30 p.m.

Virtual learning
Middle school and high school students interested in online learning are invited to attend one of two open houses for Spokane Virtual Learning. The program is offered by Spokane Public Schools and all classes are taught by certified teachers.
The open houses are from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the South Hill Library, 3324 S. Perry St., and from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Shadle Park Library, 211 W. Wellesley Ave. Classes available online include science, history, foreign language, government, English, math and more.

Fatherhood seminar
Fathers are invited to attend a seminar on fatherhood May 11 and 12 in Coeur d’Alene. Session topics include marital relationships, balancing work and family, blended families, dysfunctional families and more. The facilitators are Dr. Edwin Hutchinson, psychologist and executive director of the Amend Center, and John Lee, author of “Facing the Fire: Experiencing and Expressing Anger Appropriately.”
The seminar will be held at the Shilo Inn, 702 W. Appleway Ave. in Coeur d’Alene. It begins at 8:30 a.m. May 11 and ends at 4:30 p.m. May 12. The cost is $400 for the weekend or between $30 and $50 for individual sessions. Call (208) 676-1633 for more information or to register.
Puppet shows
Puppet shows starring Andy the puppet will begin at 1 and 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Mobius Kids, 808 W. Main Ave. Seating is limited, so call ahead to reserve a spot.
