Troxel winning among public

The Huckleberries Online gang was solidly in the corner of Lake City High football coach Van Troxel after his arrest on DUI charges Saturday morning. The Spokesman-Review provided the details Tuesday. Here’s what HBOers said:

•Dick Haugen: “I would bet my house that Trox will be found innocent of ALL charges. Try doing anything after being awakened at 2 a.m. Glad his kids called him instead of driving themselves.”

•Jane Q. Citizen: “I’m of the early opinion that Troxel should be applauded for his parenting. He obviously instilled in his children about the danger of driving after drinking. That those adult children knew their father would come and get them at that hour of the morning shows unconditional trust and love.”

•Onset: “I must say I’m impressed with the way Troxel has handled the press in this case. He has made the cops look like the bad guys (probably because he is telling the truth).”

•Thom George: “My wife … commented that she … is not so sure that I’d pass a field sobriety test at that hour!”

•Whippersnapper: “Troxel’s a straight arrow. He’ll be cleared.”

•John Duh: “It is unfortunate that this man has to deal with this situation, because he is in a somewhat high profile position with an impeccable reputation. Everyone and their brother now read the report. As not guilty, as is evident, it is still on record, and Van will now have to deal with an uncomfortable situation.”
