Cubs 6, Mets 2: At Chicago, Ryan Theriot legged out an RBI infield single with two outs that started a six-run third inning as the Chicago Cubs defeated the New York Mets.
Braves 6, Rockies 4: At Atlanta, Tim Hudson pitched seven scoreless innings and hit a two-run single to lead the Braves past Colorado. Hudson made his 12th start following an Atlanta loss. The Braves are 10-2 in those games.
Marlins 6, Astros 5: At Miami, Miguel Cabrera scored the winning run from second base on a wild pitch with two outs in the 12th, giving the Marlins a victory over Houston.
Reds 9, Pirates 8: At Pittsburgh, Adam Dunn’s two-run homer in the 10th gave Cincinnati a win over the Pirates in a battle between the worst two teams in the National League. Eight home runs were hit in this game.
Brewers 6, Phillies 5: At Milwaukee, Prince Fielder hit a two-run homer in the eighth, and the Brewers came back from a four-run deficit to beat Philadelphia.
Nationals 12, Cardinals 1: At Washington, Ryan Zimmerman hit two home runs and Joel Hanrahan added a two-run double in his first major league win as the Nationals routed St. Louis.
Diamondbacks 8, Dodgers 7: At Los Angeles, Eric Byrnes and Miguel Montero hit two-run homers, Livan Hernandez recorded his first road win since May 17, and Arizona beat the Los Angeles Dodgers.
Padres 3, Giants 2: At San Diego, Khalil Green’s RBI single in the bottom of the 12th scored Marcus Giles and gave the Padres a win over San Francisco.
