PARENTAL GUIDANCE

Excerpts from conversations on the Parents Council blog this week:

By the book: “I think that parenting books often validate what we already believe and can give good ideas in concrete situations. We’re not likely to completely overhaul our entire philosophy on child rearing, but sometimes we get stuck on the little things like how to get ready in the morning with a minimum of fuss. And it’s those little things that happen day in and day out that can cloud the bigger issues.” – Posted by Jennine

Getting annoyed: “I think any time you live with someone they are going to do things that upset you. … you just have to be calm and tell that person how you feel, also realize that you can not change their behavior but only your response to it. … sometimes we need to work on ourselves first.”
