Abercrombie’s team falls

Washington State University guard Thomas Abercrombie and his native New Zealand lost 78-57 to Korea in a men’s basketball game at the World University Games Monday in Bangkok, Thailand.

Abercrombie scored two points and had five rebounds and two steals.

New Zealand faces Ukraine in a 13th-16th place game at 10 p.m. (PDT) on Wednesday.

Men’s golf

The Community Colleges of Spokane named Scott Kramer as the new men’s golf coach.

Kramer, a graduate of Odessa High School, golfed for CCS and Whitworth, and was on the 2002 NWAACC championship team for CCS.
