Blue Jays 4, Angels 1: At Toronto, Roy Halladay pitched his major league-leading fifth complete game and the Blue Jays took advantage of four errors to beat Los Angeles. Halladay allowed one run and four hits, walked none and struck out two.

Orioles 12, Yankees 0: At New York, Aubrey Huff hit a grand slam, Daniel Cabrera pitched two-hit ball into the seventh inning and Baltimore defeated the Yankees. Kevin Millar homered and reached base five times for the Orioles.

Red Sox 2, Devil Rays 1: At Boston, Coco Crisp singled in the winning run in the bottom of the ninth three batters after Mike Lowell had tied the game with a homer, and the Red Sox beat Tampa Bay. Eric Gagne struck out the side in the ninth for his first win since being traded by Texas on July 31.

Tigers 6, Indians 2 (10): At Cleveland, Magglio Ordonez hit a three-run homer in Detroit’s four-run 10th inning as Detroit moved one game ahead of the Indians in the up-for-grabs Central Division with a win over Cleveland. The Indians went 0 for 10 with runners in scoring position.

Rangers 5, Royals 2: At Arlington, Texas, Gerald Laird and Michael Young homered and Kevin Millwood struck out nine in seven innings to lead Texas over Kansas City. Millwood gave up three runs – one earned – and four hits.

Athletics 4, White Sox 3: At Oakland, Calif., Jack Cust hit solo home runs in his first two at-bats to help Lenny DiNardo win his fourth straight decision, and the Athletics beat Chicago. Donnie Murphy hit Oakland’s third homer of the night off Jon Garland and Nick Swisher tripled and scored a run for the Athletics.
