Achievements: Benjamin Dykstra completes basic military training

Air Force Airman Benjamin Dykstra graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio. He is the son of Patricia Dykstra of Cheney and a 2005 graduate of Cheney High School.

“Pvt. First Class Parker Bailey graduated from Marine Corps Recruit Depot boot camp in San Diego recently. He will be on recruiter’s assistance duty in Spokane. Bailey is the son of Ike Bailey and Kari Barto.

Irene Gonzales of Spokane recently graduated with a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Washington State University. She is the daughter of Gilberto and Estella Lugo from Spokane, and Paul Gonzales from Walla Walla. Gonzales is the executive director of teaching and learning services for Spokane Public Schools.

Jennifer Roseman has graduated with a master’s degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Washington. She is a 1970 graduate from Ferris High School, and has a degree in journalism from New York University and a master’s degree in organizational leadership from Gonzaga University.

Kenneth Hong of Spokane was named to the spring semester dean’s list of Emory College in Atlanta. He is the son of Dr. Steven Hong and Jean Hong.

Megan Meyer of Spokane graduated with a degree in studio art, cum laude, from Carleton College in Northfield, Minn., recently. She is the daughter of Dr. Timothy Meyer and Phyllis Meyer.

Zachary Cardella of Spokane was named to dean’s list at Curry College in Milton, Mass., for the spring semester.

Joshua DeVos of Spokane recently received a Master of Public Health from the Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University in Atlanta.

Todd Richardson of Spokane graduated with a degree in computer information systems and an associate in science in business administration from Union College in Lincoln, Neb., recently.

Dana Mannino graduated from Army basic training at Fort Benning, Columbus, Ga. He is the son of Suzanne Blomquist of Spokane and the late Paul Blomquist.

Sarah N. Luber of Colbert graduated cum laude with a degree in peace and conflict studies from Colgate University in Hamilton, N.Y. She is the daughter of Stephen and Lorie Luber.
