Auditions

“Hole in the Sky” – Ignite Community Theater, today, 6:30 p.m. at the Blue Door Theatre, 815 W. Garland. Needed: men and women ages 15-60. Auditioners should be prepared to read cold from the script. The performance will be Sept. 8. Call (509) 993-6540.

“The Foursome” – Spokane Civic Theatre, Aug. 27 and 28, 6:30 p.m. at the theater, 1020 N. Howard. Callbacks will be Aug. 29. Needed: four men to appear in their late 30s to late 40s. Classes and workshops

Learning to Use Color in Your Home – Hosted by the Spokane Parks and Recreation Department, Saturday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Corbin Art Center, 507 W. Seventh. Cost: $18. Call (509) 625-6677 to register.

Ballet Arts Academy – Charles Askegard, principal dancer from the New York City Ballet, teaches intermediate and advanced master ballet classes Monday through Aug. 24. Sessions are 10-11:30 a.m. daily for advanced students and 12:30-2 p.m. daily for intermediate students. Cost: $25 per class. Call (509) 838-5705 to register.

Cement Leaves Class – Taught by Lou Carver and Ginger Keogh. Use real leaves from cabbages, hostas and rhubarb, Saturday, 1-2 p.m. and Monday, 6-8 p.m. Cost: $60, including supplies. Call (509) 327-3726 to register and get directions.

Spokane Watercolor Society – Artists are needed for the society’s 12th annual regional juried water media exhibition at the downtown Spokane Public Library, Sept. 29-Oct. 26. Call (509) 464-1434 for a prospectus.

ArtReach – Artists are needed to teach in the Spokane Art School’s ArtReach program, which offers ongoing off-site classes in cooperation with local after-school programs. Those interested should submit a resume and current work samples at the school, 920 N. Howard. Call (509) 328-0900, ext. 203.

Colville Arts Foundation – Artists and crafters are needed to provide work for display at Colville City Hall and the Colville Chamber of Commerce. Artists must install their own exhibit and no commissions are taken. Call (509) 684-3002.

Spokane Park’n Swap – Artists and crafters are needed for the flea and farmer’s market at the old Newport Cinemas at Highway 2 and Hawthorne Road. Continues every weekend though the fall.
