Orioles 6, Yankees 3 (10): At New York, Miguel Tejada hit a tiebreaking double off Mariano Rivera in the 10th inning and Aubrey Huff added a two-run homer to lead Baltimore past the Yankees. Alex Rodriguez went 4 for 4 for the Yankees.
Blue Jays 2, Angels 1: At Toronto, Shaun Marcum pitched into the eighth inning, Alex Rios had three hits and the Blue Jays beat Los Angeles. Marcum retired the first eight batters he faced before Reggie Willits singled in the third. He gave up one run and four hits, walked one and struck out six.
Devil Rays 6, Red Sox 5: At Boston, Al Reyes whiffed Manny Ramirez with two on for the final out, and Tampa Bay held off the Red Sox. Andy Sonnanstine took a shutout into the seventh inning to end an eight-game losing streak.
Indians 5, Tigers 2: At Cleveland, Fausto Carmona struck out a career-high 10 and finally got his 14th win as the Indians regained a share of the Central Division lead with Detroit by beating the Tigers. Carmona dominated Detroit, allowing one earned run and four hits in eight innings.
Rangers 4, Royals 3: At Arlington, Texas, Michael Young hit a two-run double, Ian Kinsler homered and Texas held on to beat Kansas City. Mike Wood allowed two hits in one scoreless inning to earn the win. Rangers reliever C.J. Wilson had his scoreless streak of 16 2/3 innings end in the ninth.
Athletics 3, White Sox 2: At Oakland, Calif., Mike Piazza broke a scoreless tie with an RBI single in the fourth inning and Kurt Suzuki hit a two-run homer, leading Oakland past Chicago. Joe Blanton struck out five and didn’t walk a batter in seven scoreless innings to get the win. He allowed five hits.
