Hints from Heloise

The Spokesman-Review

Dear Heloise: I often find myself remembering something I need to do, but don’t have a pen and paper handy to make a note, so I send a text-message note to my home e-mail account from my cell phone. This way, when I get home or to a computer, everything I needed to remember is in my mailbox. – Zack Peabody, via e-mail

Dear Heloise: I have found that an empty, plastic powdered-drink cylinder (the kind that contains six small tubs of mix) holds a pair of curved, sports-model sunglasses perfectly. The inside of the cylinder is smooth. Keep it in the glove compartment or a cup holder to keep your shades clean, scratch-free and unsmashed. – Teresa Eubanks, Cadiz, Ohio

Dear Heloise: Use a dry cotton ball to pick up little broken pieces of glass. I have found that the fibers catch shards that you can’t see. – Laura Faitro, Simi Valley, Calif.
