Diamondbacks 3, Brewers 2: At Phoenix, Brandon Webb allowed a run in the first, stopping his scoreless string at 42 innings, but won his sixth consecutive start to lead Arizona past Milwaukee.

Cubs 4, Giants 2 (10): At San Francisco, Cliff Floyd doubled to open the winning rally as Chicago scored twice in the 10th to beat San Francisco and hang onto first place in the Central.

Cardinals 6, Marlins 4: At St. Louis, Albert Pujols homered for a career-best fifth consecutive game to give St. Louis an early lead, and Jim Edmonds’ two-run, seventh-inning shot put the Cardinals ahead for good in a win over Florida.

Padres 7, Mets 5: At New York, Jake Peavy (14-5) slowed down New York by striking out 11 and pitching wild card-leading San Diego to a victory.

Pirates 11, Rockies 2: At Denver, Nate McLouth hit a pair of home runs and Pittsburgh pounded out 17 hits during a rout of Colorado.

Dodgers 15, Phillies 3: At Philadelphia, Andre Ethier and James Loney each drove in three runs, Matt Kemp had a career-high four hits and Derek Lowe pitched seven solid innings to lead Los Angeles over injury-depleted Philadelphia.

Reds 4, Braves 2: At Cincinnati, Josh Hamilton and Jeff Keppinger hit consecutive home runs, and Bronson Arroyo helped himself at the plate with an RBI as Cincinnati beat Atlanta.

Astros 3, Nationals 2: At Houston, Woody Williams won his third straight decision and Ty Wigginton hit a solo home run as Houston beat Washington.
