“Washington State University announced local students awarded scholarships for the 2007-08 academic year.
Carolyn Green received a $1,000 Frank and Irene Potter Memorial Scholarship. Green graduated from Mead High School in 2005 and is the daughter of Carmen and Todd Green of Colbert.
Zachary Rhodes was also awarded a Frank and Irene Potter Memorial Scholarship for $1,500. He is a 2004 graduate of Lewis and Clark High School. He is the son of Vickie and Tim Rhodes of Spokane.
Sarah Crilly was awarded a $6,000 Herbert L. Eastlick Scholarship. She is the daughter of Sheree Randal and William Crilly of Liberty Lake and graduated from Central Valley High School in 2004.
Leah Masten received a $2,500 Ron and Louise Carter Broadcasting Scholarship and a $500 Mark Kaufman Scholarship. She graduated from Shadle Park High School in 2000 and is the daughter of William and Debbie Masten of Spokane.
Emilee Hearrean was awarded a $2,500 College Education Scholarship and a $1,000 Marianne Hawley Fessler Memorial Scholarship. She is the daughter of Elizabeth Heath and David Hearrean of Spokane, and is a 2004 graduate of Rogers High School.
Bobbie Riley was selected as a Boeing Scholar for her outstanding academic achievements and was awarded a $2,000 scholarship. She graduated from Cheney High School in 2005 and is the daughter of LeAnn Riley of Spokane.
Gabriel Rubio was also awarded a Boeing Scholarship for $3,000 and Freedom Philosophy Scholarship for $2,500. Rubio graduated from Ferris High School in 2004 and is the son of Karen and Rick Rubio of Spokane.
Andrew Barnett was awarded a $1,000 Henry and Myrtle Green Endowed Scholarship from the College of Business. He is the son of John and Deborah Barnett of Spokane and is a 2001 graduate of Ferris High School.
Kevin Dainty received a Jacob W. Oswald Scholarship for $1,500. He graduated from LaCrosse High School in 2006, and is the son of Wayne and Monica Dainty of LaCrosse, Wash.
Nicholas Ulrich was awarded a $1,500 Leff Family Honors College Education Abroad Scholarship. He is a 2005 graduate of Ferris High School, and the son of Rockie Hansen and Bill Ulrich of Spokane.
