On the Fourth of July, as fireworks fell from the sky, this little red diamond did, too. She landed on a farm, went unclaimed and ended up on a shelter euthanasia list. But rescue workers recognized her value and claimed her for foster care.

Diamond lives for the company of children. She adores them, and she also gets along with all farm animals, including fowl. But she dislikes thunder, gunfire and things that go bump in the night.

If you have a peaceful fireworks-free zone that could use some sparkle, ask about Diamond at Second Chance Pet Rescue at 664-4106 or visit its Web site at www.secondchancepetrescue.petfinder.com to learn more.
